Apter Industries Site Live

ARS Creative has recently completed a project for an industrial and commercial cleaning supply company. Apter Industries was in great need of a re-design and e-commerce solution for their website. It was a timely process but Angie, Randy and Scott delivered. Angie wooed them into going with us, Randy did a nice clean look, and I coded the site,  implemented WordPress as a CMS and used WP-ecommerce for their product catalog. Check out the site here.

ARS Creative

Recently, two other friends and I decided to put our talents together and started a new web company called ARS Creative. We just completed our first project for an IT Consulting firm, IQ-Inc and we achieved a huge milestone for the beginning of this small business. The ARS site was just launched at ars-creative.com. Take a look and pass the word.

NudeyPress

As I become more familiar with WordPress, I discover more tools and information that make my life as a developer a lot easier. There a good deal of nice, free themes out there to get you started, but if you are coding a new WordPress site from scratch, a naked theme is the way to go. A naked theme is basically a simple, stripped-down version of a theme that allows you to go your own way without having to sift through another developer’s code. Two popular naked themes that worked very well for me are sandbox and starkers. Try them out.

New Site Coming Soon

I am now collaborating on web projects with my friend Randy Humphries. We are now in the process of totally overhauling our portfolio sites. He is doing the designs and I will be doing all coding and WordPress integration. His site is almost complete except for the portfolio section and some QA. You can see it here. He has designed my new site as well and I should be coding it after I finalize his. Check back soon for updates.

SKArts.com goes all WordPress

Welcome to WordPress and welcome to SKArts. I have decided to migrate away from ColdFusion/MS SQL Server and start learning some PHP/MySQL. It’s working well so far. Being a XHTML/CSS coder, I find WordPress a clean and straight forward system and a perfect environment to develop beautiful code. There is so much customization available that it’s almost possible to make a “CMS” driven website. We’ll see how it works from here on out. I am using someone else’s theme for now, but I will soon be making my own. Peace.
