As I become more familiar with WordPress, I discover more tools and information that make my life as a developer a lot easier. There a good deal of nice, free themes out there to get you started, but if you are coding a new WordPress site from scratch, a naked theme is the way to go. A naked theme is basically a simple, stripped-down version of a theme that allows you to go your own way without having to sift through another developer’s code. New Site Coming Soon

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I am now collaborating on web projects with my friend Randy Humphries. We are now in the process of totally overhauling our portfolio sites. He is doing the designs and I will be doing all coding and WordPress integration. His site is almost complete except for the portfolio section and some QA. You can see it here. He has designed my new site as well and I should be coding it after I finalize his. Check back soon for updates.

SKArts.com goes all WordPress

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Welcome to WordPress and welcome to SKArts. I have decided to migrate away from ColdFusion/MS SQL Server and start learning some PHP/MySQL. It’s working well so far. Being a XHTML/CSS coder, I find WordPress a clean and straight forward system and a perfect environment to develop beautiful code. There is so much customization available that it’s almost possible to make a “CMS” driven website. We’ll see how it works from here on out. I am using someone else’s theme for now, but I will soon be making my own. Peace.
